I have been wanting to put together a family cookbook for several years now. I have gathered my recipes and asked for family members to gather theirs as well. That's as far as it's gotten!! I'm torn as to how to actually put this together. There are several online publishers where you and your family can enter your recipes from your own computer. However, the catch is that you have to order a minimum of 150 books. I only want about 20! And then my next dilemma is what family do I include in the book...the Watsons, the Greens, the McCains,...which will lead to so many others!! UGHHH, what to do, what to do??
In the meantime, I'm experimenting with my own computer skills to see if I can create the pages, and then I'll take the completed book to a local printer. Maybe I'll make this my Christmas project. Which year though?...well, we'll make that the cliffhanger! ;)

My mom's "brother" who passed away recently made us all cookbooks about 3 Christmas' ago and I love mine. He did it all himself and took it to someone for binding the pages together. Its lovely and he just put his favorite family recipes from all of us in there. No one family imparticular. I use that Picaboo deal for stuff like that but its more like a book than a cookbook, but you can add pictures...etc. Great idea!
That sounds like a great idea Lori. You could always use regular notebook binders and print it all out yourself, but it would look more professional if you had it done at a printing shop. Good luck with it!
