Water, water, water!!

I have challenged myself to drink water instead of sodas for at least two weeks. I DON'T LIKE WATER!! (Unless I'm really hot and dehydrated, and then I can't seem to get enough!) I have a doctor's appt. Monday afternoon because I have had lots of pain in my joints for sometime now. The reason I'm going now is because it has started in my fingers and hurts really BAD! I was telling a friend of my about this and she suggested the aspartame, such as in Diet Coke (my drink of choice), might be causing some it. So at this point, I'm willing to go without and see if it helps. I'm on day two and haven't noticed any drastic changes. It probably hasn't helped either that I have gained 30+ pounds in the last 3-4 years. Matt and I both were following the Weight Watchers plan before we moved here, and I reached my goal weight shortly after. And I guess I have been celebrating ever since!! So, I'm going to try to do better: watch my portions and lay off the sweets (sniff,sniff). And exercise...I hate to sweat! But now with this pain in my joints, it's hard to do any kind of activity for too long. Maybe it's just an excuse, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Nutrasweet and the like makes me feel really bad too. Gives me really severe headaches that nothing will get rid of. I've heard that if nutrasweet reaches a certain temperature, it can be very toxic. I stopped drinking sodas quite some time ago and it's amazing that I can actually live without them. Every great once in a while I will treat myself to one, but only without caffeine (which is said to be another toxic substance.) Good luck with the water. We all need it. Makes your body function better, cleans out your impurities and helps your skin look younger. (or so I'm told) :)

I confess that I love coke, caffeine, sugar, and that wonderful fizzy carbonation. Its my breakfast "coffee" everyday. Shame on me! I try to drink water everyday but its very tough! I have found that I drink water a lot better if I use one of those flavored packets of Crystal Light in each bottle I drink. They are so good and it helps me get my daily intake of water that I need.
Maybe our neighborhood all need to walk together. I go to Curves 3 days a week during my lunch break and I love it. Its not too expensive if you join during one of their specials and I love it. The music is usually uplifting and it helps my pain go away. I have horrible knees from playing ball and Curves has helped me tremendously.
